Just when we thought it was safe to go back in the water.

The government have announced new measures to suppress the coronavirus as Autumn starts and pupils return to schools, but what does the new ‘up to 6’ rule mean for corporate events?

For now, the new ruling pretty much draws a line under all events bar the smallest.  Some have talked about separating groups into teams of 6 and rotating around activities, but this doesn’t adhere to the new guidance and could result in fines for organisers and attendees alike.

Unfortunately, company/corporate events don’t fall into the exemptions list – https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-meeting-with-others-safely-social-distancing/coronavirus-covid-19-meeting-with-others-safely-social-distancing but may well do in the coming months.

For now, we wait and see what the next move will be and whether we can safely move back to group activities or if these need to be postponed until Spring.
